• Group ranks No. 1 in water sector worldwide, confirming leadership of more than a decade
• Group rises in other sector, geographic rankings
• Group expands in Australia as increased market share sees it pass to 3rd from 5th place 

Milan, August 21, 2025 – Webuild Group confirms its global leadership in the water sector in the latest annual rankings published by Engineering News-Record (ENR), the influential U.S. industry magazine. With its technical excellence, ability to deliver and commitment to sustainability, the Group has remained first in the sector for more than a decade in ENR’s Top 250 International Contractors. Overall, Webuild rose to 13th from 14th place among the 250 companies, highlighting its solid business model and ability to generate value even in a complex international scenario.

The rankings, which are calculated according to the amount of revenues that were generated outside companies’ respective domestic markets in 2024, also have Webuild rising in other categories and reference markets.

The Group’s ranking as first in the water sector reflects its consolidated expertise in the construction of dams, water treatment plants, aqueducts and related infrastructure that help communities meet the challenges posed by water management. Combined with related sectors such as clean hydro energy, they represent a significant part of the Group’s revenues. In the first half of 2025, they contributed 24 percent of the total. They include projects that are technically challenging and serve as examples of best practice at the level of innovation. There is Snowy 2.0, the largest of its kind in Australia that the Group is developing with its local subsidiary, Clough, as well as the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), the largest in Africa that is set to be inaugurated in September. There is also Fisia Italimpianti, the subsidiary whose desalination plants have come to serve more than 20 million people, especially in the Middle East. These plants are one of the most promising ways to confront the water scarcity crisis by supplying potable water to both home and industry.

ENR also has Webuild rise to 7th from 8th the previous year in the Sewer/Waste sector, which concerns storm sewers and wastewater treatment plants, both of which are strategic for the health and safety of communities during extreme weather events. The latest example is Lot 2 of the Riachuelo System, which recently entered into operation in Buenos Aires, Argentina. With Webuild and Fisia Italimpianti responsible for the development of two of the three lots that comprised the project, the system is the largest and most technologically advanced in Latin America.

Webuild ranked 10th in Transportation. This new placement is thanks to its work in sustainable mobility, among which Rome Metro’s Line C that will cross under the centre of the Italian capital; the high-speed/high-capacity railways between Genoa and Milan, and Naples and Bari; and the high-capacity railway connecting Palermo, Catania and Messina in Sicily. All three of these will become part of the strategic corridors of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). In France, the Group is taking part in the construction of the Grand Paris Express, the largest sustainable mobility project of its kind in Europe. In Australia, it is working on a rail line that will connect Sydney with a new airport.

Geographically, Webuild’s growth in Australia is reflected in its rise to 3rd from 5th in the ENR ranking of foreign companies operating in the country, the largest market for the Group outside Italy, representing 29 percent of revenues generated in the first half of 2025. It is where significant investment is being made in infrastructure, sustainable mobility and energy transition in particular.
