Our projects in New Zealand
Webuild has a history of delivering projects in New Zealand - our predecessor, Codelfa-Cogefar, played a significant role in constructing the Tongariro Power Scheme, one of New Zealand's largest hydropower projects.
Starting in 1967, we excavated more than 40 kilometres of tunnels and passages, including the 19-kilometre Moawhango-Tongariro tunnel, which was among the longest hydro tunnels in the southern hemisphere at the time.
The project was completed with an excellent safety record, reflecting the Group’s a strong safety culture and a focus on keeping people safe.
New Zealand community events
Webuild was proud to partner with Gamuda to host a Supplier Industry Briefing recently in Auckland, New Zealand, bringing together more than 130 representatives from 60 businesses.
The event provided an opportunity to share insights into Webuild and Gamuda’s upcoming projects and how local suppliers can play a key role in delivering worldclass infrastructure in New Zealand. Our project and procurement teams enjoyed connecting with so many industry partners and exploring ways to collaborate.
