Webuild projects in New South Wales
In New South Wales, Webuild has established a significant presence, contributing to the development of key transport infrastructure projects that enhance the state's connectivity and urban landscape, as well as major water infrastructure projects, supporting the nation’s renewable energy transition.
Supporting Australia’s renewable energy future
Webuild and its Australian subsidiary, Clough, are part of Future Generation Joint Venture, the principal contractor for project owner Snowy Hydro Limited, delivering the iconic , a major Snowy Scheme expansion underpinning Australia’s transition to a renewable energy future.
The project will link two existing Snowy Scheme dams, Tantangara and Talbingo, through underground tunnels to the depths of up to one kilometre and an underground power station with pumping capabilities. Snowy 2.0 will add 2,200 megawatts of energy generation and provide 160 hours of energy storage for the National Electricity Market, enough to ensure the stability and reliability of the system during prolonged weather events, such as wind or solar droughts.
Connecting communities through sustainable transport
Webuild as part of the Parklife Metro Consortium is delivering the package of the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport Project.
The project involves the delivery of six stations between the St Marys interchange station and the Bradfield Station, as well as the provision of 12 new metro trains, core rail systems and a stabling and maintenance facility. Once everything has been completed, the consortium will operate and maintain the line for 15 years.
Delivering major transport infrastructure projects
Webuild recently delivered the project which involved the construction of a new metropolitan train line north-west of Sydney and the design and construction of the Skytrain bridge.
The project involved building 8 new stations and 4,000 parking spaces, and it was the first completely automated high-speed train system in Australia.
Supporting the community of New South Wales
Throughout all operations, we are dedicated to delivering world-class safety outcomes, sustainable solutions, and lasting benefits to the New South Wales community.
University Of Technology Sydney
We are committed to engaging and inspiring the next generation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) professionals. Webuild has been a proud partner of the University of Technology Sydney since 2018.
As Australia’s first university for people studying scientific-related topics, together we have implemented a number of scholarship programs. Our Australia Tomorrow’s Builder Scholarship is awarded to high-performing engineering students, and the Women in Engineering and IT Program supports women through professional and academic training.
